Still looking for Kaa… Got Him!
I went back to the Animal Kingdom, still looking for the missing magic shots.
It was a bit of an adventure today. Bob decided not to go, and I hesitated, as it was definitely going to rain. But, I wanted to walk, so I headed out.
It started with very light sprinkles as soon as I arrived…I was prepared with my plastic phone baggie, a hat, and my umbrella. All the front photographers were already pulled, but the front bridge still had one hardy soul… with a camera…just for kicks I asked for Wall.e, he said he’d try, but didn’t think it would work where we were…he was right…I got this…🤷♀️
I immediately headed for the Kaa spot in Asia, but no one was there, so I went to dinoland, I figured no photographer would be out there either, as it was definitely now raining, but I could eat and maybe the rain would let up after that…I really love the restaurantasurus. It’s like a TARDIS, looks small but it’s huge inside…this is just a couple rooms of several, plus a few porches outside.
Still had trouble finding a seat though, as people that weren’t eating, were just sitting around waiting till the rain stopped. I finally joined a family on the end of their table (they weren’t eating). It was still lightly raining afterward so I went to the Dino ride.
After that, the rain was a barely sprinkling, so I went back to the Tiger rock, where the Kaa photo is…no photographer, but the info people said they’d be back out shortly…
I decided to go ahead and do the Safari . Good choice! It was straight walk on…a fairly long walk, but just straight walking, no stopping…and most of the animals were out..here’s a few, the others will be put on the Animal only page.
After the safari, it was not raining at all, so I rushed over to the Tiger tree…and was really surprised to find a photographer, with no line! I got my Kaa shot…
I was going to head back to the Dino area to see if the explorer shot was available and maybe head out and get the chameleon…but I passed the Lion King show and just for fun, I stopped to see when the next show was…it was 90 seconds! I was the last person in, the only seats left were front row! The show actually started within 30 seconds of me being seated…
Truthfully, while the singing and dancing were very good, and the four floats fairly interesting, I was kind of underwhelmed…it felt like I was in a small, second rate circus tent. I don’t know why it struck me that way…the kids around me seemed to enjoy it, although a young father next to me kept putting his head down on his knees and sighing, it was fairly annoying and didn’t add much to the atmosphere…
On the way out I talked to a photographer who was on her way in, as the rain was starting to pick up (my feet were soaked by the time I got to my car)…she said they also had a new confetti spring shot…so I guess I still have four shots left to get here…Oh well, hopefully I can find a dry day or two, next week…see you then…
